Growth Partnerships

Business owner/operator seeking a collaborative partner bringing either growth equity or partial liquidity (typically retaining 25-49%), but plan to stay actively involved and continue growing the business.

Add-on Acquisitions

Acting on behalf of Lab One’s particular platform company, seeking to identify horizontal M&A, vertical M&A, or other growth-focused expansion initiatives.

Lab One Capital is built by self-made entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. We’ve spent our lives building and growing businesses—grappling with the sleepless nights, tough decisions, and transformative wins that only founders truly understand. From first-hand experience as founders, operators, and private equity investors, we know what it takes to scale enduring companies. Our approach isn’t grounded in distant oversight or theoretical models; it’s shaped by rolling up our sleeves, solving problems alongside leadership teams, and investing our personal capital earned through our own entrepreneurial successes. We’re here to be dedicated stewards, respecting the legacies of the businesses we acquire, while nurturing their next stages of growth.

Having bought, sold, and even fundraised for years in traditional private equity, we realized that too often the focus drifts toward short-term returns and quick exits. We wanted something different—an approach that empowers entrepreneurs, encourages patient growth, and fosters lasting value. By embracing a permanent hold philosophy, we free ourselves from arbitrary timelines and transaction-driven pressures. Instead, we invest with the mindset of permanent owners, dedicating our energy, expertise, and capital to help businesses grow at a pace that honors their histories while building for the future. Management Transition

With the largest generational shift of business owners in history currently underway, we act with urgency and pride ourselves on creative, yet pragmatic solutions. We are committed to both party’s success and often present multiple “indifferent” financing structures to the business owner only to ensure their goals are consistently being met.

While most business owners we work with are planning towards an eventual retirement, we recognize some exits are quickly imminent while others are significantly drawn out in stages in order to share some of the future success and upside.

Regardless of the business owner’s personal circumstances and transition goals, we strongly believe mutually beneficial solutions can almost always be achieved.
